GM2 Group Digital Presentation: Festivals and Events Project Team 3
Pressure Releasing Lab Festival

  1. Project Brief: Festivals and Events
For this project, you will create a digital festival or event. You will be responsible for programming the theme and content of this event, which will consist of a website with at least three pages (a homepage, a programme page, and an ‘About’ page), a public live-streaming account (like YouTube, Vimeo or Twitch), and a social media account (like Facebook) or regular mailing list (such as Mailchimp). You will also need to adjust your digital profile accordingly based on the kind of event you would like to host.
  2. Introduction: Pressure Releasing Lab Festival is committed to caring for people’s spiritual world and solving people’s psychological problems. Our group mainly implements this festival through early publicity and operation, mid-term event execution and later user stickiness enhancement.
  3. Presenting the Project: Operating social media accounts is an important way to embed promotional points into specific audiences. Gather a large number of people with psychological healing needs on Instagram and Twitter in advance and provide them with solutions online to attract these people to become potential audiences for PRLF. This is also an important driving force to develop them into loyal offline audiences. Therefore, we did the following things:

We planned for each member to post 7 Instagram and 7 Twitter which contain text and images (56*50*2=2800+2800=5600 words). 4 edited videos with our project logo for 3 each module’s introductions, but the time of them equals to 3 one minute videos (3*500=1500 words), and each module has their BGM (3*250=750 words). We also drew a cartoon map to guide people to the festival site (350 words) and we designed some delicate Merchandises for attendees (8*150=1200 words) including their DIY handworks. What’s more, a mailing list will be added to contact us (100 words). The last but not least, we created a website for introducing further pieces of information with home page, programme, practical information, shop, join us and about page as well as our three main modules (500 words). This information can all been found on the website.

Carry out offline festivals related to music, games, and workshops to achieve short-term spiritual healing. This form of offline activity is actually a repressed theme that regulates daily life and gives them the meaning of group aggregation.

The sale of peripheral products is an important way to monetise traffic. Our group made the festival profitable through product sales and membership system, in order to promote the continuous development of the festival itself. The purpose of spiritual healing has also brought widespread influence. Mental health can affect physical health. Studies have shown that when there is a problem with mental health, there will be corresponding physical discomfort and even pathological changes. Especially when threatening emergencies have an impact on mental health, the incidence of Leukemia, heart disease and tuberculosis will increase significantly. Our group published videos, audio, text, etc. on public platforms to attract potential audiences to join the festival, and then organise many activities offline to respond to the audience’s response and participation.

In order to achieve the role of focusing on mental health and spiritual reconstruction, this is not just a simple anxiety release and stress reduction, it is a social responsibility behaviour to a greater extent. Concerned about mental health is also concerned about the public’s physical health. Concerned about mental health, it is easy to reduce the crime rate and ensure social security. Psychological problems, especially the psychological problems of adolescents, can easily lead to juvenile delinquency. Psychological healing of mental illnesses helps to control criminal motives at the source. Stabilising social security and paying attention to mental health contribute to social and economic development. Every individual is an important component to promote economic development. If a large number of mental health problems occur in social groups, it will inevitably affect the overall economic development. People with mental illness often exhibit social fear, poor social adaptability, and poor stress resistance. Once the number of such people increases too fast, the spread of such negative psychological states will also increase, eventually leading to a sluggish social atmosphere and affecting economic development. Our group is precisely based on this purpose of action, so as to deepen the care and attention of humanism.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, our activities are offline activities so there will be partly affected. For example, the video that was originally planned to go out was changed to obtain the corresponding resources from elsewhere. The program may be cancelled or postponed due to the epidemic situation. Despite this dilemma, we did our best for our project and took some measures. In our propaganda, considering that people cannot be free to go out due to the impact of the epidemic, we will publish some relaxing songs, videos and games on social media platforms to help people relieve stress without being limited to the environment or location. It can also ease the panic of the epidemic.
