Format and Referencing

It is extremely important to learn how to cite the sources you have used in your coursework and how to provide a list of these sources in the appropriate format. Referencing is an important part of academic discourse because it enables your readers to find the sources for the evidence and arguments on which your work is based. It is also important from the view of academic integrity, and demonstrating that you have fully acknowledged the sources on which your work is based.

HOWEVER, it is important to note that SSPC and the Psychology AU expect you to use different formats for citing and listing sources in your written assignments. Because of this, it may be worth your while installing and using Referencing Software, such as EndNote or Reference Manager, when you complete your coursework assignments. These software allow you to collect, store and manage a collection of references, to insert these references automatically into your Microsoft Word documents, and to build bibliographies, all in the format/referencing style of your choice.
