Welcome

Welcome…

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the University of Southampton, the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences and the BSc Psychology programme.

This is the Undergraduate Handbook for students studying the BSc
in Psychology who started in 2016/17 or after. If you started your degree in 2015/2016 or before, please click here for the appropriate handbook.

The information contained in the handbook aims to provide you with key information relating to your degree and your three years of study. It has been designed to give you an overview of the procedures, regulations and information sources that you will need to know. The programme is administered within the School of Psychology, and the handbook outlines the procedures and regulations in your school. It is important that you familiarise yourself with the information that it contains and that you explore the contents of the handbook as a whole.

British Psychology Society (BPS) Accreditation

The BSc Psychology degree at the University of Southampton meets the requirements of the British Psychological Society (BPS) for producing graduates who are eligible to apply for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), a prerequisite for further professional training accredited by the BPS. The programme achieves this goal by assuring both the quality and content of the individual units. For information about the British Psychological Society (BPS), and to see if you are eligible for the GBC, please click here.
