Overview of module ‘profile’ websites
If you wish, you can use eFolio to create a customised website for your module that is accessible outside the University. There are many reasons you would want to do this including:
- Creating a module ‘showcase’ that can be viewed by potential students to the University.
- Raise the ‘googlable’ profile of your module, your department and you.
- Showcase keynote lectures and interesting course material to students from other Faculties who may wish to take your module.
However, there are a number of things to consider before doing this.
- Is the content I am making available fully referenced and/or allowed to be used in this manner.
- Would blackboard be a more suitable place to hold this content?
If you are unsure if content you may be putting up online is not copyright cleared or you do not have permission to use it then you can restrict access to your module profile to members of the University.
