Student text messages

If your Academic Unit or faculty has enabled the service, you can send text messages to all students on your modules who have signed up to receive them.

To do this:

  1. Login to eFolio and click the ‘My Modules’ link from the main menu
  2. Click on the appropriate module and go to the ‘Student List’ tab
  3. Click on the ‘Send SMS to this group’
  4. A text box will appear allowing you type a message of up to 140 characters after which click ‘Send SMS’

Things to note:

  1. Only students who sign up to receive text messages in eFolio will get messages so it should not be use to send vital information.
  2. Messages cost approx 3p each so texting a group of 100 students will cost your academic unit or faculty 3 pounds.
