A Short Biography

At the University of East Anglia in the U.K., Professor David L. Andrews leads fundamental research on laser interactions, quantum and nonlinear optics, molecular photonics and chirality, structured light, polarization spectroscopy, energy transfer and quantum electrodynamics.  He has over 350 research papers and twenty books to his name.  The current focus of his research group is on quantum aspects of optical frequency up-conversion, optical vortices and chirality, optical manipulation, and optically nonlinear mechanisms in fluorescence.  Andrews is a Fellow of the SPIE, the OSA, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Institute of Physics, and he is a member of the Board of Directors of SPIE.
