As we count down to our annual LifeLab Showcase where we celebrate the achievements and milestones over the past year, we have asked some of our supporters what the project means to them.
Here Iain Tinkler, a science teacher from Cantell School in Southampton talks about the impact LifeLab has had.
“I have been nothing but impressed with the LifeLab programme.

As a school, we have now had well over 250 of our pupils benefit from the programme, not only in terms of their awareness of health issues, but also in terms of their scientific skills.

“The group research project, which the LifeLab trip provided stimulus for, has developed students’ independence, communication skills, resilience, and confidence.
“It is amazing for them to be able to apply the knowledge that they have gained to a ‘real-life’ situation which interests them. There was a real buzz around the school when the students were given this freedom to investigate something for themselves.
“We have now built the LifeLab programme into our scheme of work for the whole of year 8.”
Tickets are still available for the LifeLab Showcase. The event is free, you just need to reserve a place here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lifelab-annual-showcase-2018-tickets-46224138643
